Today’s horizons of electrical networks’ protection systems

DigitalPlatforms S.p.a was one of the main supporter companies of the seminar “Today’s horizons of electrical grid protection systems” organized yesterday by AEIT – Italian Association of Electrotechnics, Electronics, Automation, Information Technology and Telecommunications –  at the University of Florence.

The current scenario of the Italian electricity grid entails the need for research and development of suitable protection systems both for the National Transmission Grid and for the Distribution Grid. The seminar dealt with the main issues related to the protection systems of the AAT, AT, MT and BT electricity networks.
Riccardo Pighi, Ph.D., R&D E&A manager of SELTA – BU of DigitalPlatforms SpA, during the seminar presented a contribution entitled “Evolution of Teleprotection Systems for the National Transmission Grid: compliance with the IEC 61850 standard and new transport technologies”.
During the speech, the new TPS-3000 teleprotection product was presented and its innovative features for the management of plant scenarios in wired or protocol or mixed logic and for interfacing with modern packet telecommunications networks.
