DP has became an AIIC member
DP has became an AIIC – Italian Association of Critical Infrastructure Experts- member.
The Association is apolitical, no-profit and it has the purpose of promoting and fostering research, training, analysis, awareness-raising, consultancy and operational activities in Italy in the field of critical infrastructures.
The development, safety and quality of life in industrialized countries depend on the continuous and coordinated functioning of a set of infrastructures which, due to their importance, are defined as Critical Infrastructures. These include, among others, the electricity system, communication networks, transport networks (air, sea, rail and road), the health system, financial circuits, government support networks, those for the management of emergencies.
For economic, social, political and technological reasons, these infrastructures have become increasingly complex and interdependent and consequently increasingly vulnerable. These vulnerabilities risk inducing real dangers to the development and social well-being of our country, also due to the increased threats related to both the extremes of climate phenomena and the troubled socio-political world situation.
The Association was created to build and support an interdisciplinary culture for the development of strategies, methodologies and technologies capable of correctly managing such infrastructures, especially in crisis situations, in conjunction with exceptional events or following intentional damage. The Association proposes itself as a common table to share experiences and knowledge in the context of these infrastructures and to foster an interdisciplinary and intersectoral approach. Therefore, it welcomes academics, scholars of the subject and experts in the various critical infrastructures. The goal is to create an overall vision and be able to concretely support institutions and companies in the management of this complex domain.
